Welcome to Haven’s Ideals. My name is Haven Caylor-Brown, and I am proud that God has blessed me to be a husband and a father. Like the Apostle Paul says in the New Testament from Ephesians 2 verses 8 & 9, what I am proud of (being a father to Ammon and Carter and a having an awesome spouse) is nothing I can boast about…it is by the grace of God.
If you’re looking for Caylor-Brown Consulting (World Languages Advocate) you’re not far. My career passion is teaching Spanish. However, I have a literary passion that I have been nurturing for almost ten years.
When I started writing several years ago, an editor for an international magazine commented that she liked the way I write because it is a “slice of life”. I love to weave nostalgia, family, pets, parenting, spirituality, and travel intricately together.
Ammon, Carter, and I have a ton of things to discuss and share: curriculum, Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences, Bloom’s Taxonomy, world travel, learning Spanish, learning Polish, and so much more. Both of us parents have doctorate degrees: Education and Medical! Ammon and Carter are blessed, once again, to be homeschooled with Daddy S as their teacher. They are entering the 8th grade. Speaking of blessed, I am continuing to teach for the Dalton Academy in Dalton, Georgia this 2022-2023 school year. I teach Spanish for Native Speakers, and I LOVE IT! We are laying groundwork for Dual-language, Content with English-Spanish. I am certified in history, and our high school seniors are in dire need of content, United States History for their End of Course Exam.
I have been writing (travel, parenting, and children’s literature) for 10years. Ammon, Carter, and I published Christmas Hawk. We also have a great parenting book entitled Parenting Strategies on the Go:Diverse Teaching Strategies for Parents Who Want Their Children to Learn No Matter Where or When
We are featured in a book, Find out Anything From Anyone, Anytime, and we have 2 short stories published as well in Scenic Scenes: A collection Chattanooga’s Arts and Literature.

Thank you for visiting me/us on my blog. I hope you can glean something for yourself, put it in your heart and mind, and apply it to your own life. And now to end….. “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” (Number 6:24-26)
Haven, I read your blog about Fr. Gordon and Suzanne. You wrote so beautifully and so truthfully about them that I hope they get to read it. I’m going to try to pass it on to my family and friends so they can be as inspired as I was. Last Sunday’s sermon was one of his best and I hope I never forget to “honk” words of comfort and encouragement to those I follow. You are such an asset to our church and to my life!
Cheryl, Fr.Gordon and Suzanne did, indeed, get to read the blog, and they seemed to be touched. I was honored by their words. I am honored by your words as well, and I hope and pray that God will use me to my fullest potential at St. Martin’s and in your life. Love, Haven
Thanks for sharing this site with me. What a pleasure to have four new church friends in my life.

Thank you, Ann!
Thank you so much for sharing your blog with me. I love it! And I love seeing how the children have grown. They are so beautiful. I can tell they are very, very bright too. And it’s obvious that they have two extraordinary and loving parents. Keep the posts coming! – joanna
Thank you, Joanna. It was so good to see you. Haven
Can’t wait to read everything. i am proud of you.
Thank you, Claire. I’ve been receiving some very encouraging words from published authors since the beginning of 2013, and they think I have talent and the will to get those books published. Prayers are needed!
