Ammon & Carter’s New Bicycles

The tricycles Mamaw bought for Carter and Ammon two years ago were still being used just about every day, but it was time to move up to a bicycle. When Ammon, Carter, Sean, and I did the Santa list before Thanksgiving, both of the children put a bicycle on their lists.

I was 5 years old when I got my first bicycle, but I didn’t learn to ride without training wheels until I was 7. I’m not too sure how they will do without training wheels, but I will keep you all updated…LOL

One more thing. I love coveralls for both Carter and Ammon and myself. They are so warm, easy to put on during the winter months, and easy to toss in the washer and dryer if they get dirty. Hey, and aren’t they a contrast to the “Cutesy Christmas clothes”? (You cannot peg what this family wears!) ;o)

I got Ammon and Carter up at 7:30 (I’m soooo glad there is sleeping and no peeking during the wee-morning hours during this age) to tell them that Saint Nicholas has been here. I loved reading “Twas the Night Before Christmas” on Christmas Eve, and Carter and Ammon were anxious for Santa.

They had a good and blessed morning with their Santa toys. Their biggest gift and challenge is their bicycles.

Ammon and Carter’s Nana has the Jesus Christ’s spirit of GIVING during Christmas, and she spares no expense on her grandchildren. They are very blessed (in a familial way & material way …LOL…) to have their Nana.

I hope and pray that you and yours enjoyed Christmas 2012. Starting and ending the day with my family and with Jesus the Christ child in my heart was my favorite and most important part.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas from the Caylor-Browns: Ammon, Carter, Sean, and Haven

Dear Friends, Family, & Blog visitors, thank you so much for being Christmas blessings. Have a peaceful Christmas Eve. Put aside the thoughts of gifts, preparing Christmas lunches and dinners, and find some alone time to think of a traveling and anxious mother and father (Mary & Joseph), who together brought Jesus the future Christ into the world in a lonely stable with only God’s creatures as witnesses. And, oh my, envision the star of Bethlehem that shown where Jesus lay, with it picture the angels those heavenly hosts singing of his birth. Thank you God for our Jesus, and thank you Jesus for choosing to come to this earth as a babe so as to experience life just the way we do.

Merry Christmas everyone, and may you carry the Christ Child, Jesus the man and preacher, and Jesus the Christ our Lord and Redeemer in your hearts every day of the coming New Year. With love, Haven

Ammon & Carter’s Christmas Fashion Show

Before I begin, please let it be known that the most that was paid for Ammon a dress was probably $20. Carter’s sweaters cost even less.  EVERYTHING was bought after Christmas of 2011 in those BIG BLOWOUT SALES. This isn’t a brag about expensive children’s clothes, it’s about being blessed to dress our children in cutesy Christmas clothes. I know Ammon enjoys the clothes. Carter couldn’t care less. However, Sean and I LOVE the pictures and memories that we make. The real blessing is that God gave us the children to dress, and for that we are eternally grateful. Please enjoy the blog “Christmas Fashion Show”.

Toys R Us 2012

It’s so cool to enjoy the Ferris Wheel at the Toys R Us in Times Square, New York City. Ammon and Carter really enjoy going there even if it is just to “look at toys”.

It’s so cool to see Carter & Ammon growing. I am including their last year’s link so we can all compare.

Happy Monday, and enjoy the music!

Haven's Ideals by Haven Caylor-Brown

When I went out with the hounds last Friday morning, we had such a picturesque frost on the ground. Mother Nature and the art that she creates is incredible: the ice crystals on the clover or the feathery, ice designs on the sheets of ice on our pond. The frost was so heavy that there was still frost on the ground in the shaded areas at 10 o’clock that morning.

The frost reminded me of the opening lines of “The Christmas Waltz” song. I never really appreciated the song until one of my favorite singers/actresses, Kristen Chenowith, sang it on her Christmas album from 2009. I want to share the song with you all. Enjoy and have a blessed Sunday.

The older I get the more I know how much giving me and my sister Karen a great Christmas meant to Daddy.

Haven's Ideals by Haven Caylor-Brown

Christmas 1971

What a haul that year! I was 5 years old. I am forgetting quite a bit, but I got a Hot Wheels Track set, a cat clock that wagged its tail and blinked its eyes, a portable record player, and records just to name a few things. One of my records was the album you see today, Gene Autry: Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer And Other Christmas Favorites. Several days ago I heard Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer by Gene Autry, and my heart sank a bit when a wave of childhood memories of my father and Christmas flooded my heart and soul. My father truly loved giving us presents and seeing us enjoy our Christmases during childhood. He loved cowboys, and he loved Christmas, so it was natural and a pleasure for him to buy me this album. My heart still misses him so much especially during Christmas.

New Friends: Marilyn, Auris, & Jennie

The Blessings of Friendship

The Blessings of Friendship

One thing I have really enjoyed while traveling these past 8 years has been making new friends. Well, really more than just new friends but being BLESSED with new friends. This trip God blessed me with 3 ladies all who were so special in their own ways.

Ammon and I sat by Marilyn Yelle going from Atlanta to Newark. I enjoyed chatting with her, and she was so interested in Ammon and Carter. She does business for interior designs with such hotels as Westin and Dream. I am looking forward to corresponding more with Marilyn. She and I were in sync with the value and importance of education. She has two children, a boy and girl, and I am praying that they will have successful ventures finishing up high school. I also hope and pray that Marilyn has a blessed career and helps guide her children with fulfilling lives.

Auris is a young Hispanic Woman who works at the Café Cranberry. I always seem to find a friend there. While I am making my coffees there in the early morning hours, I chat quite a bit, and this is the 2nd time I’ve found a Hispanic friend to converse with in Spanish. Auris is about to receive her General Education Development degree, and I am so proud of her. She has such tenacity and will to fulfill that goal, and I know she will do it. Auris helped me with the message of “Don’t give up.” It is a such a comfort to know that if you symbolically end up in a closed room, open a door or window. The cool thing is if you’re “in sync” with God and the Holy Spirit, they will open the door/window for you.  She encouraged me to write and fulfill my goals in life. Thank you Auris!

Jennie Diaz is a young, Hispanic ( Dominican Republic!) who is a receptionist at the Double Tree where we stayed this time. Through the Holy Spirit, Jennie and I connected our spirits, and it was such a fellowship of thoughts, feelings, and spirituality. I enjoyed sharing about Christmas, Christmas music, family, life, and love.  Jennie’s message was the message of faith….that hope in God of things unseen. When she and I talked about Carter and Ammon, I could genuinely feel her true concern and interest. After she and I had chatted for several mornings, I knew I had to buy her some flowers. On Thursday after my morning jog, I bought her a bouquet of fresh flowers and gave them to her. She was elated, and that made me happy as well. Jennie, you made my stay at the Double Tree extra special. Thank you.

Marilyn, Auris, and Jennie, thank you for your wonderful selves. God, thank you for these wonderful ladies, and bless them and keep them in Your care. Merry Christmas, and God bless you.
